DESCRIPTION:You’ve heard of singing in the rain—but we think what happens after the rain stops is worth chasing! \nJoin us on Sunday\, October 18\, 2026\, at Indian Riffle Park in Kettering\, Ohio\, for a morning of family-friendly fun\, fresh air\, and learning about the water that connects us all. Check-in begins at 8:00 a.m.\, with a whistle start at 8:30 a.m. \nThis year\, we are excited to combine our annual Walk for Water\, traditionally held along Little Miami Scenic Trail\, with a new opportunity to explore the important connection between stormwater and healthy waterways. Run\, walk\, skip\, or crab-walk the course\, with signs along the route sharing the exciting world of stormwater and its impact on the watershed’s waterways. \nAnd don’t worry about a little rain—this event is rain or shine (because what better way to learn about stormwater than to see it in action?). \nAfter your jaunt in the park\, stick around to celebrate! Friends and partner organizations of the Little Miami Watershed Network will be on hand to help make the morning even more fun while sharing ways we can all help protect and improve our local waterways. \nRegistration is required for each participant on the course. Online registration closes 10/15/26 at midnight. Walk-up registrations are welcome. DESCRIPTION:City of Beavercreek and Little Miami Watershed Network are joining forces for a countywide effort to remove invasive honeysuckle and give our native plants and trees room to thrive. \nWe’re taking Greene County back one honeysuckle bush at a time! Honeysuckle spreads quickly\, crowding out the native trees\, shrubs\, and wildflowers that belong here. \nBring friends and family\, and join us at the Honeysuckle Palooza workdays below. Together\, we can keep Greene County native! \nWe will meet at E.J. Nutter Park (865 Factory Rd\, Beavercreek\, OH 45434) from 9:30-11:30am. SUMMARY:2026 LMWN Annual Meeting
DESCRIPTION:2026 has been an exciting and productive year at the Little Miami Watershed Network—and it’s all thanks to supporters like you! \n\nA strong group of volunteers has diligently been collecting data as a partnership with OSU to update the Economic Impact of the River corridor. To view the study done 5 years ago Click Here\nWe have had monthly cleanups removing 3500 pounds of trash (as of September).\n2 weeks of day camps focused on watershed education in partnership with Greene Soil and Water.\n\nNow it’s time to celebrate these achievements—and fuel what’s next! Our Annual Meeting – in person in partnership with Christ Church of Kettering’s Green Team (Christ Church’s Foster Hall 3440 Shroyer Rd\, Kettering\, OH 45429) —it’s a chance to review the progress we’ve made together and invest in the future of the Little Miami Watershed. \nWe will also hear from guest speaker Matt Misicka\, the Executive Director at the Ohio Conservation Federation. Matt will present A Primer on the Ohio River Restoration Program Act: an overview of the collaborative plan to restore the waters of the Ohio River basin\, focused on healthy waters\, healthy communities\, and healthy economies. \nIf you would like to attend please register so we can have enough food for everyone!
