About LMWN
The Little Miami Watershed Network (LMWN) is a nonprofit organization organized exclusively for charitable, scientific, and educational purposes under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. LMWN’s mission is to enhance the quality of life along the Little Miami River by promoting
protection, stimulating public interest, and encouraging preservation of the river’s natural heritage through cleanup, restoration, and stewardship efforts.
We work to promote responsible stewardship, facilitate communication, and build strong partnerships across the watershed. Our vision is a sustainable, high-quality Little Miami River watershed that supports people and wildlife — now and for generations to come.
In furtherance of this mission, LMWN:
- Promotes the protection of and improves the natural environment and water quality for the Little Miami River.
- Educates Ohioans about the importance of the Little Miami River and its watershed.
- Promotes stewardship and restoration projects in collaboration with local stakeholders.
- Facilitates and advocates for public-private partnerships that support watershed health.
- Encourages nonpartisan public and governmental support for effective, science-based, and sustainable watershed management.
LMWN may consider donations and support from individuals, businesses, foundations, and other organizations when those contributions advance our mission as outlined in our bylaws.
Since 2010, we have removed more than 34,000 pounds of trash and over 1,200 tires from the river. We work year-round to keep the watershed clean and resilient, to tell her story, and to amplify her voice—welcoming the community while protecting the Little Miami River for years to come.
